Alas! The time has finally come that I get to share Lucas & Imari’s beautiful mini engagement shoot! :D
The day after Christmas, I got to meet with these two for their mini engagement photoshoot! Imari is one of my dearest best friends so it was so much fun working with them and seeing them together as a couple! You might recognize Lucas & Imari from their amazing surprise proposal! You can see and read about their beautiful love story here! :)
Just a little background on these two: They met each other one fine Sunday at church, or as Imari remembers, they met in one of her classes at Calvary Chapel Bible College. Imari’s beauty caught Lucas’ attention, but once he saw her heart for God, he fell in love. And as he pursued my beautiful friend, Imari saw his heart for God and his selflessness for others, she fell quickly in love as well. (Read more about it here!)
Over their past few months of dating, I never ceased to be in “awww” of all the cute surprises & acts of love & service Lucas did for Imari! Needless to say I was so happy for my dear friend when Lucas told me and our other friends about his proposal plans! I was so happy to be able to do a mini engagement session for them! :)
When we got to Glen Arbor Park in Murrieta for their e-session, the lighting fit perfectly with their outfits and balloons! It was a great day, not too hot, not too cold, and just a bit windy!
This shoot was so much fun! Lucas and Imari just fell so naturally together, and as I eased them into shots, the moments I was able to capture between them were so perfect! Their chemistry showed so effortlessly! I must say though, that if you know the couple, they are incredibly quotable, and most of these shots have stories behind them! ;D
I asked Imari to tell Lucas what she loved about him as she walked for a photo and this is what happened:
“The first thing I like about you is… uhm… well… It’s hard to say… hmm..”
Hahaha typical. ;)
Lucas & Imari read to each other from their Bibles in great accents. Both of them do pretty good English accents! ;)

One of the things Imari told me about her relationship with Lucas is how he could always make her laugh (even when she didn’t really want to laugh). I love that! :)
Somewhere in one of these photos they laughed because “she’s breathing heavily on my face!” Hahaha
The easiest way to make someone laugh is to tickle them! Hahaha sorry Imariiii!
We had such a fun time! These two are so silly together and it was so great to see them both so happy with one another! :)

& this is another one of them… Imari likes to smell Lucas. Haha! (She also enjoys smelling my hair… haha)
During the shoot I accidentally told them to see who could blow on each other the most…. so… they wanted to try it. HAHA!

I absolutely loved how fun these photos came out and how natural Imari & Lucas look with one another! They are such a beautiful couple and I’m so thankful I got to spend this time photographing them! :)
