Valentines Day Hike + A Surprise | Santa Rosa Plateau

Happy day-after Valentines Day! :)

To be honest, I’m sure a lot of people are happier on this day because…. chocolate is on SALE! Hahaha If only I could have done it, I would have cleared out all the chocolate sales. ;)

Anyhow, for valentines day, I got to go on a hike with John! :) It was so much fun! I haven’t been to Santa Rosa Plateau, or let alone hiked, in SUCH a long time, so it was great just being out there and taking it all in! The weather was great and the fresh air was amazing! & Walking back with soup from Souplantation on my mind was a definite motivation and plus! :)

Now, I know that if you were like me about a year and a half ago, Souplantation makes you cringe–they barely have any MEAT! Haha How do you get filled by that?! Rest assured, friend, that I am no health-freak (though I wish I were sometimes)!

Afterwards, we got some Lucille’s BBQ. If you haven’t had it before, you better get up and go get some! How can anyone say no to steak or ribs?! Or mashed potatoes? Or fresh biscuits and apple butter? I have no idea. Maybe super cool vegetarians, but as for the rest of us carnivores, you’d have to be crazy to say no to that, in my opinion. :)

Then we went back to my house and shared some almond jello with my brothers and my family. :) What’s almond jello, you may ask? I had no idea either, up until about two years ago! It’s an asian desert that is delicious. :) You shall see it in the picture. If you love jello and you like almonds and fruit, then I’m pretty sur you’d enjoy this! It’s light and it’s sweet and I could probably very well eat a whole packet of it. ;)

Here are a few of my favorite shots from the day with John! Bear in mind that these were not taken with my professional camera! These are with my personal! :) So not the greatest quality, unfortunately! :/

Here we got to the Historic Adobe Brick Houses! It’s about a 2 mile hike out to them! :)

Can you squish your nose like this and make it look like a square or a really big triangle like we can? HAHA!

Mmmmm our dinner. :)

& Dessert!

Now here is the surprise that I was talking about! Talk about perfect timing, God! As John and I were heading out, we received a call from my friend Aaron saying that our friend Imari was about to get a surprise from her awesome boyfriend, Lucas and needed some pictures!! Sorry, friends, it wasn’t a proposal, but boy was it romantic and super sweet! :) After Imari got out of class, he led her blindfolded to the back of the Bible College bookstore, where this little nugget of cuteness was hidden. Definitely wished I had my other camera with me!! Excuse the grain! :)

Surprise!!! Look at what Lucas and his friends set up & planned for her! :)

This was such a precious scene! :) So sweet & thoughtful! “This is so cute I almost want to puke!” (paraphrased from a comment Imari’s friend said!)

Valentine’s day isn’t the only day you can celebrate a loved one! & It doesn’t have to be a spouse or a boyfriend or girlfriend, but it can be love for a relative or a dear friend! Make sure to constantly practice loving on those around you daily! I don’t believe love is a thing but truly an action.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

You are loved!

Happy Friday!
