A Little Arrowhead Retreat | Lake Arrowhead, CA

The skies were blue, the air smelled fresh, and it felt wonderful to be up in Lake Arrowhead this past weekend!

As I realized very late last night that I needed to post a blog, I racked my brain over what I could share! Boy has it been one crazy week! (If you haven’t already seen it, one of my dear friends got engaged! You can view her love story & proposal story that hit the blog last Friday, HERE!)! :)

Friday was the beginning of my very long, but blessed weekend–one that I really need! I don’t even know where to begin! This weekend I had the lovely opportunity of helping out at a youth retreat at my friends’ church as a youth worker for the junior high girls! I got to work alongside my college friend, Jessica, and together we got to work with eight amazing girls! It was a weekend filled with not only laughs and giggles, and long nights of me & Jessica trying to avoid their embarrassing personal questions, but it was a weekend filled with a ton of prayer, worship, and encouragement from our speaker, Eunice–it was a beautiful weekend of spiritual growth for the youth.

Although physically it was a bit exhausting, I felt so much joy and rejuvenation in seeing my cabin girls, and the rest of the church’s youth, hunger to know God more, step their comfort zones, and really seek the help of the Holy Spirit. It was a great way to end a busy week, and start the next week!

I didn’t bring along my camera during this retreat, but I did take along my handy dandy iPhone, which I used sparingly! I didn’t take many photos, but I wanted to share a tiny glimpse of my weekend! :)

Two of my favorite lines from the worship set that we were blessed with are these:

I want to be unmovable and unshakable,
So let my roots go down deep!
Unmovable and unshakable in You!

I, I want to be like a tree
Planted by the streams of living water!

and

You take my mourning and turn it into dancing!
You take my weeping and turn it into laughing!
You take my mourning and turn it into dancing!
You take my sadness and turn it into joy!

I was so blessed by both of these worship songs, and with the prayers of the girls in my cabin!

Happy Tuesday! :)
