One place I have been dying to go to is LACMA! The Los Angeles County Museum of Art! I have always been a huge lover of walking through museums and looking at art. Even if I had no idea what the heck was going through the mind of the artist, it’s crazy to see how someone crafted certain things–how someone painted this, or photographed that, or even crazier, sculpted whatever it is. Sometimes, admittedly, I look at things and go… O_o eh? What? But for the most part, I love just looking at artists’ work–beautiful or not.
Finally, after hinting repeatedly, I was taken to the famous LACMA! :) Hehe. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take pictures of everything (like the Picasso paintings!), but here are a few I was able to take!
For whatever reason, I fell in love with this oil painting by Albert Bloch! I also really liked the self portrait done in the right photo, but I can’t remember the artist’s name! :/
And of course, the famous yellow spaghetti noodles (I don’t have any idea what this piece of art is called, but it looks like spaghetti to me! Haha)! :)
This is the “As He Remembered It” by Stephen Prina installation! Pretty crazy!
This is probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. It’s called “Band” by Richard Serra. It is a large steel structure that is shaped like a ribbon and extremely thin! So crazy! :)
This is “Metropolis II” by Chris Burden! During certain times of the day, the cars run through this city! :)
This is the “Levitated Mass” by Michael Heizer.
John really liked this piece. HAHA!
& Lastly, this is a piece of art called “Reflection” by yours truly. ;) Haha!
Happy Monday! :)
